What is a Wellness Panel?
One of the most important things you can do for your wellness is to get regular checkups and blood work. A Wellness Panel is a comprehensive blood panel that checks multiple aspects of your health, providing a thorough assessment of your overall well-being.
The Wellness Panel checks:
- Complete Blood Count (CBC) — Checks red and white blood cells, hemoglobin, hematocrit, and platelets — A CBC checks overall health. Abnormal numbers point to possible infections, anemia, immune system issues, or even some cancers.
- Lipid Panel — Checks cholesterol, triglycerides, and high- and low-density lipoproteins — The lipid panel assesses your cardiovascular health and potential risk for future heart and cholesterol issues.
- Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP) — Checks blood urea nitrogen (BUN), creatinine, liver enzymes, calcium, albumin, total proteins, electrolytes, and glucose — A CMP looks for abnormal levels related to kidney health, liver health, vital nutrients needed for muscle, nerve, and heart functioning, diabetes risk, and many other aspects of your health.
- Hemoglobin A1c (HgbA1c) — Often known as A1c, this test provides an overview of your glucose levels over the last three months. An abnormal A1c can diagnose prediabetes and diabetes.
- Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) — Your TSH levels reflect the health of your thyroid. This gland produces hormones related to metabolism, heart health, and how your body responds to other hormones.
